Our Founder, Phil Stephenson is a retired Certified Public Accountant with a BBA from Texas Tech University. Phil has over forty years of experience in public accounting.

Scott Stephenson, CPA
Scott is a Certified Public Accountant with a BBA from St. Edwards University in Austin. Scott has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. Scott specializes in the preparation of audits, reviews, and compilations for a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail, mining, and nonprofit clients with up to $500 million in revenue. Before becoming a Partner at Stephenson & Pfeil, PLLC, Scott was a Manager in Arthur Anderson’s audit group where he managed the audits for numerous public companies.
Julie Pfeil, CPA
Julie is a Certified Public Accountant with a BBA and MBA from the University of Houston-Victoria. Julie has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. At Stephenson & Pfeil, PLLC, Julie specializes in tax preparation for individuals, corporations, partnerships, S-Corporations, trust, and nonprofit returns. Before becoming a Partner at Stephenson, LeGrand & Pfeil, PLLC, Julie owned her practice Julie J. Pfeil, CPA, PLLC. Her career started at PW Stephenson & Co, under our founder Phil Stephenson, where she worked in tax consulting and preparation.

Our Teams Bios
Sharon Lindberg
Sharon has been with the firm for over 20 years and is the lead bookkeeper for many of our clients. She specializes in bookkeeping for our clients using QuickBooks desktop and QuickBooks online. Sharon also prepares payroll tax returns for our clients quarterly.
Amanda Leopold
Amanda is a CPA candidate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Houston – Victoria. She has more than 15 years of experience providing a wide range of public accounting services from QuickBooks, payroll, tax planning to preparation including individuals, small businesses, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and non-profit organizations. She is knowledgeable in the agricultural industry, the oil and gas industry, and real estate industry, as well as personal planning. Before joining Stephenson, LeGrand & Pfeil, PLLC, Amanda worked for Julie J. Pfeil, CPA, PLLC, and also worked for our founder Phil Stephenson before that.
Bailey Bock
Bailey studied accounting at Wharton County Junior College and has been an associate with the firm for 10 years. Her focus is on bookkeeping, including payroll, payroll tax reporting and sales tax, using both Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books online.
Lana Kurz
Lana earned a bachelor’s degree in applied arts & sciences with a minor in social work & health administration from Texas State University. Lana has over 9 years of experience in office administration and management. At Stephenson & Pfeil, PLLC, she is responsible for tax preparation and other administrative functions such as payroll and overall office management.
Sally Huggins
Sally studied accounting at Wharton County Junior College and has over thirty years of accounting experience. Sally worked for thirty-two years at Priesmeyer Bookkeeping & Tax Service before she joined Stephenson & Pfeil, PLLC. Sally focuses on bookkeeping services such as payroll, payroll reporting, and sales tax reporting primarily utilizing QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
Jessica Boerger
Jessica earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2020. Jessica is currently assisting our clients with tax preparation and bookkeeping services.
Amanda Barker
Amanda attended Texas State University with a focus on accounting. She has more than 15 years of experience providing a wide range of accounting services from QuickBooks, payroll, tax preparation including individuals, small businesses, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and non-profit organizations.
Veronica Rodriguez
Veronica has over 12 years of administrative and accounting experience utilizing QuickBooks and is our go-to. She assists our clients to meet their bookkeeping and payroll needs.
Linda Skow
Linda joined our team at Stephenson & Pfeil, PLLC after 31 years of teaching. She has a Bachelor’s degree from University of Houston - Victoria. Linda has knowledge of bookkeeping and Quick Books from managing her family business for the past 5 years. She assists in administrative and bookkeeping services.
Colleen Forasiepi
Colleen is our receptionist, she facilitates the overall bookkeeping and tax return administrative process. She has over 20 years experience in customer service and management which she gained during her time of employment at American National Insurance and Boling ISD.

What information do you need from me to get started?
We need your prior-year tax return for our initial tax planning meeting.
What information do we need to send to start on your business bookkeeping?
It is helpful to receive the most recent financial statements, payroll tax filings, and access to your general ledger.
How do we know if we need an audit or review of our financial statements?
In most cases, banks or regulatory authorities are the impetus behind an audit or review requirement.
What do I do if I receive an IRS letter?
Don’t panic – we can help address any IRS letters you receive for your business or personal return.
What is the best structure for my business?
It depends! We commonly set up LLCs, S-Corps, Partnerships, and Corporations for our clients. Please contact one of our tax advisors to assist with this question.
